I loved meeting these little guys this past weekend and am thrilled at their beautiful images.  We dodged the storms, braved the gnats, and got a little muddy, but you’d never know it.  These little ones were fun and precious and unfettered by the worries we adults had about the weather.

They also reminded me of how special life is with little ones.  This brother-sister combo are so precious, excited, creative, interested, and beautiful.  They are uninhibited and playful.  It’s truly a unique period of life that I love and hope to capture.

Meet this little man.  He’s not yet 1.  He snuggles with his mom, and she plops him down in the lush green grass.  He promptly pushes himself up to his feet and RUNS straight ahead.  Bam!  This little guy can move!

Then, his silly sister runs quickly behind him, squeezes him tightly, and runs with him in her arms even faster.

Both giggling with delight!

And the adults just start laughing- unbelievable-  look at these two go!  Fun, vibrant, and exuberant!   These 2 are happy and active and fully alive, and I had the best time taking their pictures on Sunday afternoon.

Check these adorable little guys.  Have you ever seen such cuteness?  Big brother is such a sweet and smart little boy.  He was so comfortable with me there and just chatted up a storm.  Baby brother is the new addition.  He’s smiley with the most magnetic blue eyes.

It was a pleasure to meet up with them again at their home.  Their sessions always turn out to be some of my favorites because as a family, they are so easy going and lovely.  (And, have I mentioned how cute these kiddos are?)  They make my job easy and fun.

I love that children are so at peace and comfortable in their own homes.  I love coming to into their worlds- where they sleep and play- and catching their joy in those places.  I get to meet their bunny lovies, their Alabama pillows, their marching monkeys, and beloved train sets.  They are so proud to show me their rooms, and it’s so fun and easy, natural and real.

I think you’ll see all that pride and  joy in these beautiful images.  A brother and sister happy at home with mom and dad on Saturday morning.

This duo is not just beautiful, but they are also so sweet and happy.  I’m bit biased, though, because I think the world of their parents.  Our friendship goes back to our college days, and it’s been a real pleasure to be their friends and neighbors for the last four years, to meet their babies as newborns, and watch them grow over the months and years.

You guys are awesome!  It was a wonderful morning.

It was a real pleasure and honor to meet up with an old high school classmate on Friday, and meet her perfect week old baby girl.  Though she came into the world earlier than expected, she is as perfect as can be.  And, her parents are over the moon happy.

Not only did I ooooh and ahhhh over baby girl’s beautiful face and marvel at her dainty fingers and her tiny toes, I was also very impressed as to how well her parents are adjusting.  They are calm and at ease with their firstborn.  Joyful, peaceful, and proud.

Congratulations once again!  I can’t say it enough, it was a real honor to be with you and meet your baby girl.

She is perfect.

Meet this sweet little princess.  Among her big family– 2 parents, 3 doggies– she rules the roost!  And that she should, she’s an adorable little angel who all adore.  I loved meeting up with her at her grandparents’ home and seeing her smile and light up when grandmother would call her name behind me.  But nothing beat the smile we saw when she sat down with her doggies.  Seeing her next to her 160 pound mastiff just tickled us all so– what a princess.  She may be the smallest in her family, but she’s the brightest of them all!

It’s their family tradition to enjoy chocolate croissants together on Saturday mornings at a bakery in Bethesda.  So, that’s what they did on this chilly morning!  They enjoyed croissants together and took me along with them.

It was cozy and comfortable to be with them and also fun to run and play with them outside.  I loved watching them play around the magnificent Christmas tree and catching their dark brown eyes whenever they flashed them my way.  They are sweet children, and this morning together reminded me why I love my job so much.

I remember my session last fall with this family so fondly.  When I met with them again this weekend, I couldn’t believe a year had past.  On one hand, it felt like yesterday I was taking their pictures, but on the other, they have grown up quite a bit!  It was fun to catch up with them.

When I asked who wanted to take photos first, the middle sister enthusiastically yelled “ME!”  Music to my years!  She is so eager and happy and kind.  When I asked what he was for Halloween, the big brother said “Gangum Style.”  Hilarious!  That had me laughing.  And when I asked her favorite color, the little sister said, “blue and yellow for Michigan.”  She’s making her father proud, I’m sure.

I love working with these kids.  They’re fun, easy to be with, and great listeners.  Thanks for another great fall photo session!

Meet my energetic little friend.  When she gets super excited, her slight frame starts shaking, her smile shines, and her eyes sparkle.  She can’t contain the excitement!  It was easy to catch her smiles because she’s just so happy all the time.  What a dream of a girl!

We met downtown at the National Museum of the American Indian, a very special place for this family and one of the most beautiful buildings in DC.  Not to mention one of our favorite lunch places!  Their cafe is amazing, which is no secret to most locals.  At lunch, you see many suits from the Capitol meeting there.

We had a beautiful afternoon enjoying the museum grounds, exploring an adjacent garden, and soaking in the warm sun.  Like I said before, it was an easy day for me.  My friend’s excitment and her family’s beauty are so evident and natural, it can’t be missed.

Last Sunday I met up with this spunky girl and her parents down at the new Yards Park in DC.  The sun was warm, the park was neat, but this little girl’s smile was best part of the session  She just lights up the camera!  Her adorable freckles, beautiful curls, and energetic spirit are amazing.

After an hour of exploring the bridges, benches, and views, we wrapped things up.  Then, she looks at me with her great big smile and says,  ”Great!  Can we play now?!”  I was whooped from all the activity.  I think her parents were too, but not this little friend.  She wanted more play time!

It was a blast.  I hope I captured just an ounce of her fun-loving spirit here.  Enjoy!
