As these sweet friends of ours came out of their home last Sunday afternoon to greet me, I almost melted. The matching Christmas reds were adorable, the flowers in the girls’ hair precious, and those red patent clogs, I want! They are geared up for the Christmas season. Let the joy of December begin!

When I say I love this family, I really really mean it! They’ve been an integral part of my upbringing and life, as well as a solid presence in my entire family’s. As I walked out the door to take their pictures on Thanksgiving afternoon, my oldest brother said “Oh, Mr. H., he was my Sunday School teacher growing up. . . and I did a duet with S. in the 8th grade.” My parents, of course, both said, “Tell them hello,” and my sister even came along on the shoot to help me and visit with them. From soccer to school, to Bible studies and mission trips, to carpools and now long distance blog friends, this family has truly been an integral part of my life. And I am grateful for them!

After a fantastic vacation in Dallas to visit my family, we are back in town and recovering from all the food and fun.  Here’s a glimpse of what our Thanksgiving Day looked like.  I am thankful for such a wonderful year!

Me, My Husband, and My 2 Turkeys

I really enjoyed meeting these little girls and their parents today.  Did you know the older daughter is an avid reader and very good at gymnastics?  And the younger daughter, smiles and snuggles with her mommy all the time.  I loved talking with them, taking their pictures, and hanging out in their new family room.  It has the most magnificent windows for sunlight, and their swivel chairs are to die for. Love!

It was a wonderfully warm afternoon in every way, and I loved spending it with you!

I loved meeting this beautiful family today. We had such a perfect time together. This little boy played and flashed his charming smiles, the family all posed naturally, and at the end, the baby fell asleep peacefully in his mother’s arms. It was an easy hour together–they enjoyed each other’s company–and I loved snapping away.

It was a beautiful end to a beautiful day.

Welcome sweet baby girl! You are such a gift!

I’ve had the joy of watching this baby grow in her mommy’s tummy for the past year, I’ve watched as her parents anticipated her arrival, and yesterday, I had the extreme pleasure of watching them love and care for her together. This pair makes a wonderful parent team–they are full of love and laughter–and their precious baby is serene and perfect.

Children are a miracle. I will never tire of the miracle of life. I hope these images will help you fondly remember these very special moments of your new family of 3.

Yesterday I posted some sweet sister shots, and today I have some more for you.  I am loving this girly girl weekend!

These precious girls are sweet as can be, and today they came ready for a Christmas card photo session.  They have to be on the ball when it comes to ordering cards because they are sending them all around the world.  They have relatives from America, Italy, Sri Lanka, and did you say Australia, too?  And they are all eager to see how these precious sisters have grown this past year.   These girls are growing, indeed!  Growing into beautiful young ladies!

Sisters have a special thing.  They are each other’s best friend, confidant, and partner in crime.  They share life long memories and an intimate knowledge of each other that very few people will ever know.  It’s a deep bond and it’s special.

(Yes, I know, any girl with a sister knows this isn’t always true . . . I mean, sometimes, just sometimes, times aren’t so cheery  . . . )

And these sisters are all those things.  They know each other deeply, care for each other, and definitely have fun together.  Thanks for spending the afternoon with me at the Woodend Nature Sanctuary.  It was a warm and magical afternoon under the canopy of rich reds, oranges, and yellows.

Wouldn’t life be better with a soundtrack?  We’d all be more happy or chill or upbeat when working at our desks, cleaning our kitchens, or doing our homework.  Well, this little girl, lives with a soundtrack.  And Pink is her favorite artist.  Yesterday, I could feel the beat of the music beating in her soul as she played in the leaves and smiled with her brother.

As for her younger brother, I don’t know his favorite music, but it’s probably not Pink.  I’m guessing it has something to do with diggers, dinosaurs, and dirt.  He’s a boy, for sure, full of life and play and wonder.

I really enjoyed hanging out with you yesterday.  You guys are spunky and make my job easy!  Enjoy!
